Animal Shelter Experiences Slow Dog Adoptions, Overcrowding Conditions

The Animal Care Centers (ACC) of NYC is a group of open-admission shelters taking in about 15,000 pets a year. With the ACC at critical capacity, however, the nonprofit is currently closed for dog surrenders, as those already in the shelter system wait even longer to be adopted.
